How We Got Started
What started as a group of ladies hungry for the Word of God, worshipping and praying together, quickly led to God’s call on our hearts. In the summer of 2016, we had started gathering together with one goal in mind, to learn more about God and to grow in our faith and spiritual journey. As we remained faithful in our pursuit of spiritual growth, we began to realize that God had placed a special desire in all of our hearts. As we worshipped and prayed together, we discovered as a group we had a heart for service within our community, with the youth in particular.
Disheartening statistics had recently come to our knowledge regarding our local youth. We learned about the issue of sex trafficking and how gaps of vulnerability in a young persons life makes them a prime target. Several of us work in schools and/or churches and heard story after story of so many broken youth, emphasizing this vulnerability.
Eventually, we also learned that Hardin County was 6th in the state for child abuse and that alcohol and drugs are prevalent in our schools, in large part as a form of escape. All these things were confirmation of a huge need in our community.
Finally, God revealed His plan. Iowa Falls needs a faith-based community center focused on the youth of our area. This center will be a place of hope, healing, and opportunity for young people. It will be a place where we will share the truth of Christ; That poverty, abuse, and lack of care do not define our youth, nor have the final say in the direction of their future! We will nurture young lives in their identity in Christ as well as their purpose and value in Him.
Core Values
We operate according to the following core values…
Statement of Faith
We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His future return in power and glory. We believe that the Holy Spirit personally indwells all believers, bearing witness to their relationship with God; and imparts spiritual enlightenment, conviction of sin, and divine power for witnessing and service. We believe the Bible, as contained in the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired written Word of God.
As such it is infallible and authoritative in all moral and spiritual teaching. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved to eternal blessedness and joy, and of the lost to judgment and eternal conscious punishment. Our desire is that all people will place their trust in Jesus Christ. We believe it is essential for all people to believe in Jesus as their Savior and receive Him as their Lord by the regeneration of the Holy Spirit. We believe that God alone holds the power to set us free from the bondage of sin, addictions, and compulsions that destroy the quality of life that God intends for us to live. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ and that we should speak with a united voice for the welfare of the community.
